Amazing Childhood Stories of Michael Dell

Michael Dell was a genius child and a normal behaved kid. But the difference was his extremely inquisitive mind! He had a keen interest in business, computer, technology, investment etc. at a very early age! 

Michael Dell's mother, Lorraine Charlotte, was a stockbroker. The interest in investment had grown at an early age from his mother. He eventually started getting the first training from his mother. Interestingly enough, at the age of 10, little Dell started investing! He started saving money from his pocket money. That’s a very rare thing for a child. 

The eagerness of investment was so ingrained in him that he started selling stamps to make more money and save. That's how he saved 2,000 dollars at the age of 12. The time is 1977-78, and for that of a child 2000 dollars means a lot of money! 

Gradually the money grew and he started investing in stocks and metals. At the age of 14, his annual profit stood at 18,000 US dollars! Which is more than the annual earnings of his history and economics teacher! 

So from a very young age we have seen signs of him becoming a big investor of the future. At this time the computer started circulating in the market. Michael Dell received a computer from his parents when he was only 15 years old. His journey with this machine began from then. He dissects each part of the computer to see how it works. 

To better understand the whole thing, he bought a new computer from another company. He opened the parts of this computer. Dell's hard work began to pay off at last. He gathered quite a good knowledge about the machine. 

Meanwhile, Dell’s parents wanted their son to become a doctor! Despite his unwillingness, he was admitted to the University of Texas to satisfy his parents' wishes. Even after going there, the interest in computers remains. While studying, he started assembling and selling computer parts. As a result, those who want to buy a computer at a lower price benefit. They can build a computer by buying and assembling these parts separately rather than buying a computer with a lot of money. 

From this successful endeavour, Michael Dell started working on this particular business idea of computer parts selling. Before finishing his medical studies, he started a company of his own named PC's Limited in 1984. A few months later he changed the name of the company to Dell Computer Corporation. 

The next is history and may be known to many. At just 27 years old, he became the youngest CEO. He did not have to look back from then. His business and company continue to grow. Today, his company is known to be one of the largest technology infrastructure companies in the world.
