Intel Unveils World’s Fastest Desktop Processor- runs at 5.5 GHz speeds

The battle between Intel and AMD as processor builders is getting in exciting shape now. AMD announced in March that they are coming with their new Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor, which is going to be the world’s fastest processor. Meanwhile, Intel has already brought out their flagship processor! The news of this flagship was first revealed by Intel in January this year at CES 2022. Now, on 28 March, 2022, they have announced its full details and availability.

Intel claims that this is by far the fastest processor in the world. This ‘Special Edition’ of the 12th generation CPU has 16 cores, including eight performance cores and eight efficient cores. It has 24 threads. The bus speed will be DDR5 4800 to DDR4 3200 mega transfers per second. The main attraction of this processor is its 150 watt base power that allows it to run at 5.5 GHz speeds.

Clock speed has been increased from 5.2 GHz to 5.5 GHz. This high capacity processor is already marked with its steps on the market on April 5 and will be priced at $739. Sources clarify that this processor can be found at retailers worldwide from Intel’s channel and OEM partners.

However, general manager of Gaming, Creator & Esports Segment at InteI, Marcus Kennedy expressed his satisfaction on this. He says, “Intel continues to push the envelope for desktop gaming with the new 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900KS processor. Based on Intel’s 12th Gen performance hybrid architecture, this processor can hit 5.5 GHz on up to two cores for the first time, giving the most extreme gamers the ability to maximize performance.”
