Color Support / Display Color

What is Color Support / Display Color?

Color support, also known as display color, refers to the range of colors that a monitor or other display device is capable of reproducing.

The range of colors that a display can produce is often referred to as its color gamut, and different types of displays can have different color gamuts. Common color gamuts include sRGB, which is widely used in web and graphic design, and DCI-P3, which is used in many professional video applications. Some displays may also support wider color gamuts such as Adobe RGB or Rec.2020. The color support of a display is typically expressed as a percentage of a particular color space, such as sRGB. For example, a display that can reproduce 100% of the sRGB color space can display all the colors in that space accurately. Color support is an important consideration when choosing a monitor or other display device, especially for users who require accurate and vibrant colors in their work or hobbies. Displays with wider color gamuts can reproduce more colors and provide a more immersive viewing experience, but it's important to consider other factors such as calibration and color accuracy as well.
