Photocopier

What is Photocopier?

A photocopier, also known as a copier or copy machine, is a machine used to make copies of printed materials.

The machine uses a combination of heat, light, and static electricity to produce a copy of the original document. To make a copy, the original document is placed on the glass surface of the copier, and the machine scans the document using a light source. The light reflects off the surface of the document and onto a charged drum or belt inside the machine. This creates an electrical image of the document on the drum or belt. Next, the drum or belt is coated with toner, a fine powder made up of tiny particles of plastic and pigment. The toner particles are attracted to the charged areas of the drum or belt that correspond to the areas of the document with toner on them. Finally, the toner is transferred from the drum or belt onto a sheet of paper, which is then heated to melt and fuse the toner particles onto the paper. This creates a permanent image of the document on the paper. Photocopiers are commonly used in offices, schools, and other settings where it is necessary to make multiple copies of printed materials quickly and easily. They come in a variety of sizes and configurations, from small desktop models to large industrial machines, and can produce black and white or color copies.
