What is Dual Stream Support?
Dual stream support refers to a feature in video surveillance systems that allows two separate video streams to be transmitted from the camera to the recording device or network.
One stream is typically a high-resolution video stream used for recording and the other is a lower-resolution stream for live viewing, remote access, or mobile devices. The lower-resolution stream requires less bandwidth and storage space, making it more efficient for remote viewing and streaming. Dual stream support is a common feature in IP cameras, NVRs, and DVRs.
