What is Sheet Fed?
Sheet fed refers to a type of document scanner or printer that scans or prints one page at a time.
With a sheet-fed scanner or printer, the user inserts a single sheet of paper into the scanner or printer and it is processed individually, rather than scanning or printing an entire stack of pages at once. Sheet-fed scanners are commonly used in offices and businesses for scanning documents such as contracts, receipts, and invoices. They are often faster and more convenient than flatbed scanners, which require the user to lift a lid and place each document individually on the scanner bed. Sheet-fed printers are also available, and are commonly used in home and office settings for printing single pages, such as letters, envelopes, and invoices. These printers typically have a tray or feeder that can hold a stack of paper, and the printer pulls one sheet at a time through the printing mechanism. One potential disadvantage of sheet-fed scanners and printers is that they are not well-suited for scanning or printing documents with irregular sizes or shapes, such as books, magazines, or photographs. For these types of documents, a flatbed scanner or printer may be a better choice.
