Viscosity

What is Viscosity?

Viscosity refers to the resistance of a fluid to flow. In the context of thermal pest, viscosity is an important property that affects the material's ability to be applied and distributed evenly.

Thermal pest materials are typically in a liquid or semi-liquid state when they are applied, and they rely on their viscosity to adhere to surfaces and fill gaps and voids. If a thermal pest material is too thin and runny, it may not adhere properly and may flow out of gaps and voids, reducing its effectiveness. On the other hand, if a thermal pest material is too thick and viscous, it may be difficult to apply and distribute evenly, leading to areas with insufficient coverage. The viscosity of thermal pest materials is influenced by several factors, including temperature, shear rate, and the composition of the material. Manufacturers of thermal pest products carefully control the viscosity of their products to ensure that they can be applied effectively and provide the desired level of insulation.
