What is MU-MIMO?
MU-MIMO stands for "Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output" and is a wireless communication technology used in modern routers and access points.
MU-MIMO allows multiple devices to simultaneously communicate with the router/access point, increasing the efficiency and speed of data transfer. In traditional MIMO technology, a router or access point communicates with one device at a time using multiple antennas. However, in MU-MIMO technology, the router/access point can communicate with multiple devices simultaneously, using multiple antennas to provide each device with its own dedicated stream of data. This results in faster data transfer rates and reduced network congestion, as multiple devices can communicate with the router/access point at the same time. MU-MIMO technology is especially beneficial in high-density environments, such as offices or apartment buildings, where many devices are competing for wireless bandwidth. It is important to note that for MU-MIMO technology to be fully effective, both the router/access point and the connected devices must support it. If some devices do not support MU-MIMO, the router/access point will fall back to traditional MIMO technology to communicate with those devices.
